Jiménez, a Miami native, a journalist and a graduate student from UC Berkeley. She graduated from American University’s College of Communication where she studied journalism and international studies with a concentration in economics. Her work has appeared in USA TODAY, Mother Jones, Washington Post, CNBC and NBC4/Telemundo44 in Washington D.C. Her 2023 investigation into administrative failings in the State Department’s “diversity visa” program was published by Mother Jones magazine and Center for Public Integrity. At the Washington Post's newsroom, she contributed to an in-depth report into Former President Trump's pardons. While at AU, she was the president of the school’s chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists; a reporting fellow at the Investigative Reporting Workshop, an investigative reporting lab; and received the Ron Sutton Visual Literacy Award and the American News Women's Club Scholarship. The proud daughter of first generation Colombian immigrants, Jiménez was raised in Hialeah, Florida.
